Description JOB DESCRIPTION
Test Development Engineer upto £35k based in the Hatfield area
Managing all Production test requirements to meet the needs of new and existing products in Manufacture.
Supporting Production to achieve efficient and cost effective manufacture
Specifying and designing new production test equipment by understanding new products whilst in development and working closely with the R&D team
Maximising the efficiency and efficacy of production test procedures on all products
Maintaining, supporting and developing all production test procedures and equipment
Working productively with internal and external suppliers of services to bring timely and cost effective results
Providing for the test equipment requirements of the company’s service centres, both in-house and in other locations across the world
Contributing to the company’s production engineering objectives with regard to new product introduction, process improvement and lean manufacturing

Education/Qualifications: Degree calibre – minimum HNC level in mechanical, production or electronicl engineering Experience:
. Essential: . Proven track record in a manufacturing environment . Desirable:
. Electronic engineering with an electromechanical bias . Understanding of electromechanical production processes . PCB manufacture and assembly . Design and application of new tooling / process . At least C++, VB, LabView . Jig and fixture design . Process improvement – cellular manufacture, kanban, kaizen /5S . New product introduction . Project management . Management of sub-contractors Knowledge/Skills
. Good interpersonal and communication skills . Efficient time manager – task orientated . Ability to work well across disciplines and departments . 2D CAD . Understanding of modern manufacturing techniques – cellular manufacture, kanban, kaizen, 5S
