The Rotating Components Team is one of seven component centred multi-functional groups dedicated to the delivery of quality, on-time and cost effective designs. The responsibility for the components runs from initial concept, right through production, to eventual deletion.
Components and Systems: Powertrain inc. crankshaft, con-rod, dampers, bearings, balancer & flywheels. FEAD (Front End Auxiliary Drive) inc. belts, auto-tensioners, pulleys, fans & fan drive assembly. Timing Case & Gears inc. engine timing gears, gear driven auxiliaries (hydraulic pumps & compressors), timing cases & covers. Rotating Electrics inc. alternators, starter motors & battery optimization.
The Role:
Key areas of responsibility include initiating ideas; evaluating new products, processes or systems; communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units; contribute to the design of new products and processes; perform product and process maintenance; support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers
Design responsibility for Powertrain components from concept through validation and into production, to time, cost and quality targets Develop and maintain activity and resource plans for design related tasks of the programme
Maintain manufacturing assembly and service procedures for engine components
Support supplier development and APQP process
Support Design FMEAs and Design Reviews as appropriate
Take ownership for the resolution of quality issues associated with their components
Liaison with other business units CAE, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Teams
Produce technical reports
Ability to work under pressure with different functional areas Requirements:
