Description
POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER
based in STEVENAGE £35-40k 20 days holiday + bank holiday
We are an established architectural metalwork company who specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of staircases, balustrades, balconies etc.
but at time do get involved with structural steelwork. Our contracts include a variety of both new build and refurbishment projects.
We currently have an opening for a General Manager to join our team, you will need to have had experience in our industry.
The position will involve:
Programming contracts from receipt of order, through production and installation, ensuring that they are carried out within the agreed contract terms and conditions.
Liaise with the production workshops and sites and at times visit sites to check on how the installation is proceeding and assisting the draughtsmen or production personnel in resolving queries.
Liaise with clients on current projects to ensure targets are achieved within budget.
Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for on-site installation work.
Proactively progress contracts both internally and externally
Identify variations and extra costs as work proceeds
Provide information to allow invoices to be submitted accurately and at the right time.
Supervise designated staff
Assist with estimating of new enquiries
Other duties as maybe determined from time to time.
The suitable candidates will have had experience in the metalwork/steelwork industry and been used to supervising staff. Good organizational, communication and office skills. Needs to be computer literate. Experience of CAD would be useful.
We need someone who will be a team player, who is flexible, motivated and committed. Needs to be capable of meeting deadlines, using their own initiative and have a hand-on approach and be prepared to do whatever is necessary to achieve results for the benefit of the Company.
