Description
Project Safety Engineer – Complex Systems Engineering Projects
International company providing Information Systems to Defence and National Security customers. Main areas of applications include – ERP Systems and applications for defence customers, ERP systems and applications for emergency services, Personal mobile networking, information gathering and distribution systems for operation within military information networks, Deployable communications infrastructure and information security assurance.
Primary Purpose of the Role - The Project Safety Engineer (PSE) will be responsible for ensuring that delivered products are safe to operate and maintain and providing Safety Engineering support and advice on all companies Projects and Bids.
The PSE will be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the Company Safety Process (SAP-960) across all projects.
Key Tasks - would typically involve one or more of the following (depending on precise role):
Manage Safety work packages for all applicable projects .
Estimate work packages for new projects and bids in accordance with business management system.
Report forward load to Line manager and allocate necessary resources as applicable.
Providing Safety support to all Bids and Projects.
Implement the Company Safety Procedure on all Projects, Production of Safety Plans, Safety Cases and Safety Certificates for all Projects in accordance with the company safety procedure.
Development of the Business Management System in relation to Safety Engineering.
Provide advice and support to all Engineers & Managers on the implementation of DEF STAN 00-56, JSP 454, MIL STD 882, BS EN 61508, CE Marking and any relevant legislation as and when needed.
Update the company safety process in accordance with changing standards and legislation.
Work with Safety Engineer to spread safety-engineering resources on site.
Candidates will need to be self-starters, capable of working on own initiative and capable of working as part of a team.
Role may also involve working on customer sites and some UK travel.
Technical & Professional skills - Experience of Cassandra modelling tool is highly desirable. Experience in the majority of the following is required:

Education & Qualifications - BSc/MSc in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent. Proven experience working as a project Safety Engineer on either a singl | | |
