Job purpose:
• To deliver Powertrain components and systems from prototype through to production
Key responsibilities:
• To complete Powertrain component and system specifications to comply with requirements of internal and external customers.
• To plan delivery of Powertrain components and systems using MS Project, in compliance with Prodrive project delivery processes. Planning to include estimation of resources and programme spend
• To ensure completion of appropriate engineering quality processes including DFMEA, risk assessments, robustness study and root cause analysis
• To liaise with development team to define appropriate testing programme, procedures and associated resource for timely completion of development and validation testing
• To liaise with internal and external suppliers to define appropriate manufacturing route for components and systems at both prototype and production volumes. Should also be able to recommend optimum manufacturing route / supplier to meet component specification within project and cost constraints
• To define, co-ordinate engine and vehicle testing at internal and external facilities including writing engine test schedules and test procedures.
• To gather and process test data to a sufficient level to enable presentation and understanding of trends and phenomena encountered during testing.
• To complete technical reports to comply with Prodrive project management procedures and to enable effective communication with clients and Prodrive management.
