Description
Technical Support Engineer – Radio Communications / HF Communications / Military / Naval Communications equipment – West Sussex – to c £35k
The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for post-design investigations on radio communications / radio products and systems (mainly HF and Naval communications equipment) to overcome technical problems, components obsolescence, or to add new functionality.
Working alone or as a team leader the support engineer will also carry out investigations in-house and on customers’ premises / ships to identify cause of equipment or system failures; recommend corrective actions; propose modifications / enhancements to existing equipment and systems; provide technical assistance to production; technical report writing and working with technical authors to produce data and technical information for handbooks.
Applicants should have an electronics engineering background with experience of radio communications / radio products. Experience of working on ship systems / naval communication systems advantageous. Strong technical investigative, problem solving / troubleshooting skills essential.
