Systems Engineer – Communications
Staines, Middx
Salary c £40K - £50K
Our clients provide high technology communications, command & control and optronics systems on a tri-service basis. Currently require an number of additional customer focused systems and specialist radio communications engineers to provide solutions to complex problems. Suitable candidates will have gained systems engineering experience from working within either the defence or telecommunications industry, with core expertise in one or more of the following: radio communication systems (radiocoms), systems engineering, systems architectures, ITEA process and product management.
The primary purpose of the role will be to provide systems expertise for Defence Tactical Communication bids, proposals, projects and programs.
Key tasks will include systems development/adaptation from planning to delivery; technical reviews and assessments of systems, products and technologies; Work package management; writing reports, technical papers, specifications and design documents.
Candidates should be familiar with radio communications – propagation, security, standards, services, waveforms, systems interfaces etc; familiar with systems and product engineering, lifecycle, processes and tools; Systems integration and product certification (EMC, Environmental and Safety); Able to interpret customer requirements and design cost-effective solutions and communicate ideas clearly. You should be able to accurately estimate and produce project plans (time and cost) and contribute towards customer presentations on technical issues.
Candidates with various levels of experience will be considered. All candidates MUST be British nationals for security purposes.
