Description Engineering Project Co-ordinator

Engineering Project Co-ordinator
Purpose To enhance the Engineering team by providing technical administration and project engineering services. Responsible for all aspects of engineering data control and project administration on both new and existing products.
Job Specification
Primary Responsibilities Check, compile and file manufacturing information for electronic products (‘build packs’) in a defined and consistent manner.
Ensure all data is current and revision controlled.
Ensure all project requirements are met prior to manufacture, including test, tooling, packing, build instructions etc.
Update the company build pack after resolution of any technical queries from the manufacturing partner or customer.
Define inspection criteria and special instructions, add photos to system etc.
Release information to suppliers, and update build packs on computer system (eventually).
Check and manage implementation of Engineering changes (ECNs or DCRs).
Complete NPI reports in a company format, based on manufacturing feedback.
Assist in devising build instructions as required.
Check electronic component kit extras and component packaging requirements for new jobs.
Send out data for quote, and track and progress quotes with suppliers.
Ensure the above processes are detailed in procedures within the Quality Management System.
Devise and maintain a tooling log for all products.
Secondary Responsibilities
Support to Account Managers and New Business Development on electronic technical issues, which may include liaison with customers and manufacturing sites.
Deputise for production meetings, and specific progress chasing as required.
Assist in collating CEM and Engineering measures, performance reports and non-conformance responses.
Resolve shortage issues and ensure BoMs are updated if necessary (in consultation with Account Management to ensure costs are captured).
Skills Required
HND or above in a technical discipline, preferably electronics based.
Ability to understand and manage large quantities of data, including CAD and gerber for electronic assemblies, bills of materials, test instructions etc.
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate, conversant with MS Ofiice. Experienced in an electronics design or manufacturing environment.
