Description Our client manufacturers complex high precision cast/machined airfoils fitted to gas turbines used in power generation and aircraft propulsion. Customers include Rolls Royce, Alstom, GE, Snecma, Siemens and Dresser Rand. They have an opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to ensure the Company’s EH&S Policies are applied throughout the facility. This will also include accident investigation, Risk and COSHH assessments and EHS training for employees. Candidates should have the IOSHH certification plus experience having worked in a similar capacity.
MAIN JOB DUTIES:
1. To ensure that the Company’s Environmental and Health & Safety Polices are applied throughout the Facilities. 2. To ensure all accidents and dangerous occurrences have been fully investigated with a view to preventing a recurrence, and satisfying the requirements of RIDDOR in respect of external reporting to the Health and Safety Executive. 3. To collate information regarding accidents and dangerous occurrences and prepare documentation for the Health and Safety Executive, Employers’ Liability Insurers and Environment Agency. 4. To promote and advise on safe working practices, including plant and machinery, protective equipment etc. 5. To co-ordinate and assist Departmental Managers, with Risk and COSHH assessments. 6. To ensure all the Company’s environmental/health and safety programmes are maintained and reviewed. Any deviations should be brought to the attention of the Plant Manager and Company Human Resources Manager. 7. To act as Secretary to the Environmental/Health and Safety Committee and recommend measures to improve performance. 8. To ensure the Facility’s fire safety procedures are maintained and reviewed. 9. To maintain regular contact with the Group EHS Manager and ensure required accident returns and other data are supplied on a monthly basis. 10. To advise local management regarding legislative changes. 11. To liaise with HR Officer and insurers/brokers regarding civil liability claims. 12. Organise EHS induction for new starters. 13. Identify training needs for EHS as required. 14. Any other task as required by Management which is within the competency of the job holder.
