Software Engineer - C
Dorchester, Dorset
Full Time - £25K-£35K depending on experience.
Our client, a Dorchester based company manufacturing software based telecoms equipment for the world market, are looking for Software Engineers to join and expand the development team. They combine leading edge SS7 and VoiP telephony products with worldwide installation and support products.
The role is for a Software Engineer to work within a small engineering team. As a company they have to be able to move fast to keep up with developments in the marketplace and there is always the scope for learning new skills. This role will provide the chance to gain exposure to a wide variety of signalling protocols.
The role will cover all aspects of the software lifecycle including design, defining tests, software development, bug fixing and providing technical backup to the support team.
The main product is a carrier grade SoftSwitch. Protocols supported are:
VoiP: SIP and H.323
TDM signalling: SS7 (ISUP, IUP, TUP, SCCP etc), ISDN, R2 etc
Media gateway control: MGCP and MEGACO
Various others for management: SNMP, RADIUS
The ideal candidate will be a graduate (or with relevant experience) with an excellent working knowledge of 'C'. The position will include involvement and growing responsibility of all aspects of the life cycle of a software project.
Any telecoms experience would be a valuable asset. This position is open to both new graduates and experienced engineers.
