Design Engineer
Hydraulic Systems Design Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join a leading company as a key member of their systems project team, managing the design process on numerous in-depth hydraulic systems projects. This will include taking the design from initial concept, through development and finally to the production release of the equipment including in-service support.
JOB TITLE: Design Engineer
BASIC: £30-35K dependant on experience + benefits
LOCATION: Warwickshire, West Midlands
THE ROLE
The main responsibilities will include,
• Design mechanical / hydraulic / power systems for applications
• Prepare 3D (Inventor) full systems designs
• Prepare assembly drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings and circuit diagrams
• Manage the design review process
• Responsible for the configuration control of the designs within the project team
• Be responsible for the drawing change process within the project team
• Work closely with customers
• Co-ordinate the design work, including supervising design and drawing resource on an as needed basis
• Provide support to business development activities
• Work closely with the shop floor to identify improvements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess the following,
• Be educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Previous experience in the design, build and installation of hydraulic and mechanical systems and rotating machinery
• Previous experience using a 3D modelling package
• Experience in producing detailed assembly and manufacturing drawings, with a full understanding of drawing configuration control
• Excellent communication, team working, planning and time management skills
• Experience of managing the design process of complex projects with an innovative approach to work.
This position requires a valid UK driving licence, and the successful candidate must be willing to travel on occasions as required to visit customer sites.
