Proposals Engineer

A Proposals Engineer required for an automotive company to prepare technical tenders for our machines and systems. Ideal candidate will have a number of years experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer ideally within automotive industry.
The work will involve:
• Reviewing customer enquiry documents and interpreting their content to identify customer needs. These will include production rates, specification requirements and specialised processes. Customer component drawings must also be evaluated to ensure that the demanded tasks are feasible.
• Creating technical tender layout drawings including cycle time information and showing proposed equipment supply.
• Creating price estimation sheets for inclusion in the tender.
• Meeting with customers to discuss their requirements and explain technical tenders.
• Compiling Quotations from the above information
The ideal candidate will have been trained as a Mechanical Design Engineer and will already have a number of years experience in the assembly and test equipment supply industry. Preferably they will have worked for companies that supply into the automotive industry. They should be CAD trained, familiar with AutoCad and Solidworks software. It would be an advantage if they have had experience of leak testing.
The work is sometimes demanding as deadlines have to be met. A flexible approach to work hours will be necessary and the willingness to travel is needed.
