Description
Our Client is a world leader in the design and development of commercial vehicle systems. Their current success in a world wide market has brought about the need for additional engineering specialists to enable them to continue to deliver market leading products and technologies.
They now seek to recruit an experienced CAE Design Analyst.
The ideal candidate will have good working knowledge and experience of FEA with the additional ability to design and model components/assemblies using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks ideally).
Essential requirements:
Minimum BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar with approximately 2 years post graduate experience in the automotive or a related industry
Structural mechanical design experience of castings/forgings/fabrications etc - such as gearbox casings, engines, steering knuckles, suspension components, brake callipers etc.
Post graduate experience of using a 3D solid modelling CAD system to model castings/forgings/fabrications
Experience of using and applying Finite Element Analysis to engineering problems
Experience of performing hand calculations and designing from first principles
Preferred requirements:
1000 hours minimum of 3D modelling
1500 hours minimum of using an FEA system
Experience of undertaking fatigue analysis (calculating stress life and using software to perform strain life)
Experience and knowledge of non-linear FEA
DFM/DFA & DFMEA experience
