JOB TITLE: Project leader / Mechanical Designer LOCATION: Luton, Bedfordshire SALARY: £25,000 - £40,000, depending on experience The Role: **************** is specialised in developing, designing, prototyping and manufacturing Pharmaceutical Automation. **************** is an innovative company that is part of a group of 150 persons, European Leader in Pharmaceutical Automation. **************** is able to offer a unique opportunity to be part of a growing small team. We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic candidate to work in this fast moving and pressurised environment. **************** are looking for a Mechanical Designer / Project leader to help us realise our latest automation machine ordered by a Pharmaceutical company. You will be an experienced person who under the guidance of the Managing Director will take a leading position in our development team through the concept, design, prototyping and production stages. With a hands-on approach you will be involved in the following activities: User requirement specification, System requirement specification, System design specification, System test planning, mechanical/electrical/software design, prototype development and production support. You need to be highly motivated, able to work under pressure and happy to work in a team or alone. You must enjoy being part of a European group and European development team in particular. As a result, you will be requested to occasionally travel to Germany, France or other countries if needed while sourcing potential suppliers. It would be advantageous to have some experience in design for medical or pharmaceutical industry. Your main tasks will be: - To develop a new product - To find suppliers and establish costing - To write a product acceptance test specification - To get the first product produced and tested - To build up a high quality design mechanical environment (CAD, machinery, testing)
This position is a rare opportunity for someone who would like to rapidly manage a team and /or a 3 year project in order to head the technical department.
Educational Background: - Minimum HNC – HND in Mechanical Engineering - Apprenticeship in Blue Chip company ideally (Food industry, Pharmaceutical or Medical ) - Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
Technical experience: - Experience in designing special machine automation - Professional in SolidWorks - Knowledge/understanding of automation system technology, sufficient to enable specification of those aspects of the system. - Good understanding and experience of systems engineering process, including requirements management, systems analysis/design, system integration, prototyping and test. - Experience in plastic moulding and chassis building would be ideal - Good documentation skills, with experience in the preparation of systems documentation, including system requirement specifications, system design specifications, system test plans, system test specifications. - Electrical engineering knowledge - Use of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project
Personality: - Experience in leading a project - Self motivated, enthusiastic - Decisive, able to work without supervision - Self discipline in time management. - Good self organisational ability - Communication and organizational skills
Package: Salary suggested: £25,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience – Inc. Bonus) | | |
