Description Our Client is a leading development partner of the automobile and engine industry with a proven and unique system competence in the area of combustion engines and engine peripherals. They are among the top 3 system suppliers for Piston Systems, Cylinder Components, Valve Train Systems, Air Management Systems and Liquid Management Systems.
The role of Process Engineer is to provide technical engineering support to the Build & Test department, specifically relating to the generation and implementation of new and revised departmental processes.
The Role:
Creating and amending standard work instructions
Reviewing existing work instructions for accuracy, effectiveness, relevance and industry best practice
Maintenance of a work instruction index to control the issue level, including any amendments and withdrawal of work instructions where appropriate
Represent the best needs of the department with regard to engineering change and the introduction of new processes
Continuous improvement of test bed utilization and data quality will be an essential part of the role
Other activities include supporting the implementation of the Concern system driven resolutions to test facility related testing issues
Requirements:
An engineering degree is desirable, preferably in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
A good understanding of gasoline and diesel engine hardware and control systems
An understanding of engine emissions measurement including recent experience of engine and vehicle dynamometer testing
Good problem solving and analytical skills are essential along with the ability to apply a logical structured approach
Clear and concise reporting and presentation skills are essential
Demonstrable recent experience of process improvements to the installation of engines on to test beds
Exposure to electrical/electronic systems and software is highly desirable
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, with limited supervision
Team player in a challenging environment
Supervisory, commercial, financial, IT, personnel training and financial awareness skills will be an important consideration
