CONTROL ENGINER
£30000 - £40000 + PACKAGE
Innovation, foresight and great leadership are responsible for our client’s leading position and unrivalled global expansion. It is this continued growth that has resulted in the need to recruit a Control Engineer.
Reporting to the Plant Engineer, this role involves working in a highly automated environment which includes batching of raw materials, melting of the batch, forming and cooling the molten glass, quality inspection, cutting, packing, warehousing and shipping. Provide specialist technical support to the shift maintenance and production teams when required. Audit and control engineering systems to ensure compliance with site and regulatory safety standards. Select, develop and manage the contractor and supplier base relevent to your area of responsibility. Identify, design, procure and install new plant, equipment and systems. Proactively generate and deliver cost saving, safety and engineering improvements. This site is very new and further expansion is planned. Involvement in installation and commissioning work for any new plant or equipment.
Applications are invited from Degree/HND qualified (or equivalent) in Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering or related discipline. Practical experience and knowledge of:
• PLC programming (Siemens S7 series, Rockwell Control Logix)
• Variable Speed Drives (Siemens Simovert Smartdrive, Rockwell, Lenze, Danfoss)
• Fieldbus (Profibus) and networks (Ethernet, TCP or UDP/IP)
• Instrumentation (transmitters, analyzers, actuators, sensors)
• SCADA systems (knowledge of Intellution iFix)
• IT Literate
• Knowledge of current engineering standards and best practices
• Able to think practically as well as theoretically
• Experience of working within a fast paced engineering invironment; be commercially aware and able to control costs.
• Exposure to working within a 24/7 process driven production environment and capable of managing people.
