Description FPGA Engineer / Hardware Engineer – High Speed Communications / Cryptographic Systems. Primary Purpose of the Role - The FPGA Engineer will undertake engineering tasks within a project team including new product development and post development support. Key Tasks - To undertake Hardware/FPGA Engineering tasks to a high quality in new product development and post development support. To work within a multidisciplinary team assigned to a Programme Manager to achieve all project goals, To achieve tasks on time and within the allocated cost. To provide consultancy in areas of expertise to all areas of the business. To contribute to the generation of new technologies. To contribute to Improvement activities, which improve efficiency, reduce lead time and raise quality within the assigned project. To regularly take part in communication exercises to receive company information and discuss local issues. To provide regular reporting of status and problems to the Programme Manager, Project Leader, or Engineering Manager as appropriate. To provide coaching and advice to more junior members of staff. To ensure compliance with the appropriate legal, security, quality, safety and environmental procedures. Technical & Professional skills -Mandatory: FPGA lifecycle experience including VHDL design from conception/specification to delivery of tested device. Either designing for Synthesis or designing for Test. Desirable experience: Hardware design in product development of embedded sub-systems (Hi Tech Datacoms or Telecoms preferred). Mandatory Knowledge: - Up to date knowledge of FPGA design techniques and hardware technologies including FPGAs. VHDL design for synthesis and/or test. Desirable Knowledge: - Simulation Tools. Synthesis Tools. Xilinx product knowledge. Education & Qualifications - Mandatory: Good Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Desirable: Post graduate qualification. Personality / Behaviours - HAVE THE FOLLOWING PERSONAL QUALITIES:Flexible approach, Good interpersonal skills, Able to communicate across multi-functional/multi-site teams. Additional Information -Must be able to attain SC clearance, Driving License Requirements. Keywords – FPGA, VHDL, Cryptography. Salary £26K-£36K – Location – Brighton, East Sussex.
