Description
A world class name renowned for precision engineering and quality has a new vacancy for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer.
Senior Quality Engineer - Metrology
Salary: £33-35000 + benefits
Location: Northamptonshire
Responsible for leading a small team of quality engineers and quality inspectors dealing with all quality issues for bought in components and sub-assemblies working within the goods inwards team. This department conducts 100% dimensional inspection working to very high tolerances.
· Using regular measurement equipment ( micrometers, vernier, height gauge etc) and CMM to maintain throughput of measurements through the department.
· Programming CMM.
· Data reporting and analysis of variation statistics.
Applications are sought from experienced Senior Quality Engineers, Senior Quality Inspectors or Metrology Engineers who can demonstrate experience of high precision dimensional assessment and measurement. Suitable candidates are likely to have worked within the automotive, motor sport, aerospace, defence or medical industries.
Experience required:
· CMM programming and operation – ideally PC-DMIS
· Proficient using dimensional measurement equipment.
· Able to read engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerancing.
· Understand data analysis and statistics- use of analysis software such as PSC-Light preferred.
Experience or competence acting in a Supervisory or Team Leader capacity.
· Able to communicate effectively with good numeracy skills.
