Description GRADUATE ENGINEERS ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY - PIPELINE/RISER/SUBSEA TONBRIDGE, KENT OR ABERDEEN SALARY: £28k + RELOCATION
Our client is a successful engineering consultancy working in the oil and gas industry on pipelines, marine, and subsea systems. Established in 1988, it enjoys a global reputation for both its engineering and its professional training. Their wide base of clients includes the oil companies BP, ExxonMobil, Shell and Total, construction contractors such as Technip, Subsea7, Acergy and Saipema and manufacturers such as CRP Group and Bredero Shaw, as well as the Energy Institute and BERR (formerly DTI) institutions. With demand outstripping resources in the oil industry, our client has increased its growth rate and is now looking to attract the very best engineers to join its dynamic team.
Graduate Engineers will work producing calculations, reports and presentations on design for major offshore projects, including the deepwater fields for contractors, development and testing of products for manufacturers and research into new technologies for operators, including joint industry projects You will also be given increasing levels of project responsibility, depending on performance, and will develop customer facing roles. You will work in small teams, learning from the experienced engineers, and be expected to contribute to all aspects of the project from identifying the opportunity to presenting the conclusions to the client.
Successful candidates will have a 2.1 Masters degree in mechanical engineering, mathematics, physics, civil engineering, naval architecture or aeronautics from one of the following universities: Bath, Bristol, Brunel, Cambridge, Durham, Imperial, Kingston, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Loughborough, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Southampton, Surrey, UCL or York. A level Mathematics at Grade A is also required. You will have knowledge of algebra, calculus and spreadsheets and good written communication skills. Candidates should take a diligent, thorough approach and have first-class organisational skills. You will want to stay technical, enjoy challenging work and be keen to become chartered.
The work is office-based in Tonbridge with occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
