Description Manufacturing Engineer Our client is recognised as the world leading manufacturer of high value added specialty products for the food and related industries. Planned growth and investment has resulted with the need to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to further strengthen their team.
Principal Objectives
* Reduce changeover times to beat target; * Raise line efficiencies (OEE) to beat target; * Lean Implementation (5S, etc); Key Accountabilities * Supervise and lead a small team of engineer; * Eliminate chronic equipment reliability problems; * Shorten changeover times; * Raise yield of packaging materials and ingredients; * Reduce engineering-related downtime and slow-running; * Reduce rework resulting from equipment failure; * Enable and train operators to carry out change-over's and machine set-ups; * Establish & maintain a PM programme for a nominated area of the factory; * Identify and manage local improvement initiatives; * Ensure all engineering works comply with Health & Safety requirements;
Ideal Competencies & Experience
* Served mechanical/electrical apprenticeship (ideally truly multi-skilled ideally qualified to HND level or equivalent, in a multi skilled discipline e.g. mechatronics). Including fitting, machining, fabrication and welding, electrical & electronic control and installation, PLC programming, pneumatics and hydraulics, engineering diagnostics and problem solving. * Proven track record in repairing and improving equipment performance in a high speed packaging operation in "hygienically clean" environment (food, pharmaceutical, similar). * Familiarity with packaging and food or chemical processing technology. * PC skills. * Engineering leadership competencies.
