Description
Test Technology Engineer - Test Automation and Control role within Cummins Turbo Technologies in Huddersfield, to join the Laboratory Operations facilities development team, to ensure compatibility and effectiveness of systems. The Test Technology Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and commissioning of software and control on test cells worldwide. Responsible for managing project lifecycle in line with project priorities and deadlines and will be involved in problem solving activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Works closely with the facilities development team members to ensure compatibility and effectiveness of test cell systems.
· Responsible for the design, provision, commissioning, fault finding and maintenance of test systems on company test facilities world-wide.
· Responsible for the development of new test techniques and operational methods.
· Responsible for maintaining standards and ensuring that work is conducted within relevant safety and design legislation.
· Assesses safety risk before proceeding with and during work activities.
· Drive Cross functional coordination in problem solving
Essential Skills: Degree or equivalent in Engineering or similar discipline
Experienced in the design and operation of test facilities and general support services.
Exp. in working with engineering and technician groups, applying resource and managing priority conflicts appropriately to ensure that the test cells are available for use and capable of performing the required tests.
Experience of test system software (C, C++, Java, Fortran).
Knowledge of Engineering systems.
Knowledge of Health and Safety and Design rules and legislation and techniques for ensuring that these requirements are met (e.g. risk assessment).
Broad understanding of test facility systems requiring minimum supervision
