Description
The Buyer will work alongside a Senior Buyer to provide full procurement support across the following categories:
?
Consumables – both Industrial & Office
Logistics & Transport
Human Resources
Financial Services
Travel In addition, they will support the Senior Buyer on a major Distribution programme within the Automotive Company that will include procurement projects encompassing IT, logistics and warehousing, marketing, training and translation services.

In particular the role will include:
?
Working with end users to define the requirement and on occasions to act as a challenge.
Identifying opportunities where existing ways of working can be improved and building a case for this.
Working with end users to identify the most suitable suppliers in the market who can best satisfy requirements
Ensuring a consistent tender/quotation process undertaken to select the final supplier (including, as appropriate, assessment of supplier risk, management of objective evaluation, negotiation and contract generation)
Working with key existing suppliers in the relevant categories to eliminate unnecessary cost from the relationship & delivery performance/quality improvements.
Routinely reviewing existing supply base and potential new suppliers to ensure we utilise those that provide best service and value.
Participating in category planning process to ensure long term strategies are in place for categories which the buyer is responsible for.
