Salary: £25,000 – £42,000 depending on skills and experience
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a mechanical project engineer to join a company who provide a wide range of services to meet todays needs of FMCG industries including food and drink, chemical, homecare, pharmaceutical and other high volume industries. They are based in the east midlands and well positioned to serve all regions of the UK with a high quality and fast reacting process engineering service.
Due to expansion, they have a requirement for a mechanical project engineer / Project Manager to join their team of engineers.
The role will be to take a project from initial concept with a client to installation and commissioning phases.
To apply for the Mechanical Project Engineer / Project Manager position you must be a hands on engineer qualified to a minimum of HNC in mechanical / plant engineering or above and have experience of project and installation work associated with major plant upgrades and installations. Experience will have hopefully have been gained in a manufacturing industry (probably process, chemical or materials handling related).
The Mechanical Project Engineer / Project Manager must be an exceptional engineer who has a hands on understanding of site management, installation, and commissioning with a particular focus on areas such as material handling and or process plant and equipment. Any electrical skills and knowledge would a benefit to this role as would any CAD skills, but both are not the prime focus of the job. It would also be advantageous if the person were a time served engineer.
Other areas of experience will be the day-to-day hands on project engineering duties such as dealing with H&S, risk assessments, and the management of contractor resources.
