Description Systems Hardware Design Engineer – Systems Hardware Engineer - Defence/ Military Communications (Antenna’s, GPS, Analogue, Digital Electronics. The Systems Hardware Engineer should be able to produce hardware requirements specifications, documents, select subcontractors and/or build a team, follow or perform execution of hardware development project up to final qualification. The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of products, establishing applicable alternatives to the technologies utilised down to component level within the augmentation unit in order to further enhance accuracy and reliability of the unit targeting capability. Development of drawings – Wiring diagrams and Circuit Card level. Liaison with customers and sub-contractors to develop robust electrical and electronic solutions for the augmentation unit processing cards and cable and carriage solutions to support military environment deployment and operation. Establish the applicable qualification curves and generate the necessary testing/qualification profiles for the current and future generations of the system and its applications. Skills/Experience required for this role - The Hardware Design Engineer should have a solid background in electronics and electrical design, product development. Candidates must be able to adapt to changing circumstances, able to use own initiative when seeking solutions top problems, able to meet customers timescales and expectations. Candidates are required to have excellent communication skills, able to communicate with programme managers, team leaders and internal/external customers. Able to support/mentor and lead colleagues. Qualifications/Experience – The Hardware Engineer will be educated to degree level or equiv in an electronics discipline. Must have previous industry experience in the design, development and fielding of military equipment. Knowledge in GPS (Global Positioning Systems) , Antenna, analogue and digital electronics engineering.
