Description ROLE - PRODUCTION ENGINEER / MANUFACTURING ENGINEER / PROCESS ENGINEER
SECTOR - PRODUCTION ENGINEERING AEROSPACE
BASED - THURMASTON, LEICESTERSHIRE
SALARY - circa. £23,000 PER ANNUM
• THE OPPORTUNITY -
Working in one of Leicester's largest production engineering environments, specialising in the production of Aerospace parts as a 1st tier supplier to some of the global manufacturers that include Airbus, Boeing and Westlands; we are now in a position to invite applications for a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer with previous experience within a production or manufacturing engineering environment.
We have 3 positions open for this role at present, reporting directly to the Cell Manager you will primarily be responsible for the planning of routes for cell products, and specifying, designing, and requisitioning new items of tooling. In addition to this you will be responsible for initiating and implementing production improvement and cost reduction projects.
• ABOUT THIS ROLE -
- to work with Management, Production operators and engineering team to significantly improve efficiencies in the section, aiming to achieve “right first time, every time” standards of quality and delivery.
- to project manage the installation of new machinery and equipment with minimum disruption to everyday work.
- to take ownership of Quality Improvement Processes relating to the section, in line with the Company standards and procedures.
- to contribute to tooling design where required.
- implementing cost saving exercises, Actively pursue and encourage cost savings.
- co-ordinating set-up time reduction projects.
- personally challenge fixed ideas, current methods and look for ways to make improvement via improvement plan.
- to provide engineering assistance to resolve tooling production problems.
- to accept responsibility for new products, processes or projects as required.
- continual communication with the Cell Manager to ensure that the bottleneck machines maintain maximum availability.
• ABOUT YOU -
- good academic background – preferably educated to degree standard in a relevant subject.
- knowledge of aerospace fasteners is preferred.
- knowledge of AutoCad and Solidworks, must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- excellent communication skills
All shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a PPA test along with a General Intelligence Assessment that has been specifically designed for this client.
