Description We are now inviting applications for a Production Engineer with previous assembly experience preferred, though not essential to join the UK's most established motorcycle manufacturer;
ROLE - PRODUCTION ENGINEER / MANUFACTURING ENGINEER / ASSEMBLY ENGINEER
SECTOR - AUTOMOTIVE / MOTORCYCLE MANUFACTURING
BASED - HINCKLEY, LEICESTERSHIRE
SALARY - circa. £25,000 to £32,000 PER ANNUM (PAID OVERTIME AVAILABLE)

• THE OPPORTUNITY -
Our client, based in state-of-the-art facilities located at their head office in Hinckley with one of the most famous names in British Motorcycling, have become the UK's most established manufacturer of Motorcycles and have a presence in nearly every country on the globe.
With a company success driven by dedicated workers, future vision and a "One Team" approach to production and manufacturing, we are now in a position to invite applications for a Production Engineer with previous assembly experience preferred, though not essential.
Reporting directly to the UK Assembly Supervisor, the purpose of this role will be to provide Production Engineering support for the company's Engine and Chassis assembly lines in the UK and Thailand.
• ABOUT THIS ROLE -
The majority of the workload will be supporting the development and introduction of new models in the UK. This role will also involve the ongoing support for current models and the transfer of products to the company's Thai manufacturing plants.
Key responsibilities and duties will include but not be limited to -
- Input into the design of components and establishing the assembly sequence for the production of motorcycles
- The design, sourcing, purchasing, commissioning and ongoing support of assembly tooling and fixtures
- The training of production staff and the proposal and implementation of efficiency improvements
There will be a requirement for foreign travel. The ideal candidate will have good communication and team working skills as the role will involve frequent contact with employees from other departments.
• ABOUT YOU -
You will need to have the ability to read engineering drawings, this would be a significant advantage. Also you should also be computer literate and ideally have experience of using CAD. This position would ideally suit a Mechanical Engineering graduate but experience in a similar engineering position would be sufficient.
- ideally you will have achieved a manufacturing, production or mechanical engineering degree (a 2:1 or above) - although candidates with relevant experience will be considered
- HNC / HND with relevant experience
- Previous experience within the following:
- Aerospace, Automotive industry experience
- Chassis design
- Powertrain design
- Mechanical Design Engineering
