Description The Role: Production Engineer The Location: Leicester The Package: £23,000 - £27,000 + Company Car + Mobile Phone + Pension Scheme + Healthcare + Holidays
The Person: - As a production Engineer you will hold either a minimum of a HNC in Production Engineering or a HND in an analytical/mathematical subject. You will have good experience of lean manufacturing techniques and some experience in an electro-mechanical environment. You will be an excellent problem solver and have good communication skills coupled with the ability to identify the need for continuous improvement.
The Role: - As a Production Engineer, you main responsibilities will include: " To be aware of all current and proposed Product Developments, and to ensure that provision of prototype build, test methods and shop instructions are included in the relevant project timescales. " To work with Engineering and the Drawing Office to ensure that the design of new products or updates to existing equipment takes account of manufacturing requirements. " Work with Engineering and Design to ensure necessary shop instructions for Production using simple to follow methods such as pictures or photographs. Complex Engineering drawings should not be used for this purpose. " Create and maintain accurate shop routings, working with the manufacturing manager to analyse, identify and implement opportunities for labour efficiency savings. " To ensure that any required changes to the design, drawings and BOM's are fed back to Engineering and the Drawing Office and are fully incorporated before volume manufacture is started. " To monitor returns from both the Test and Repairs departments to determine if there is a problem with particular products or sub-assemblies. " To schedule activities for team members. To allocate the most suitable, available resource and identify any forthcoming additional resource requirements. " To provide regular reports to the Production Engineering Manager, indicating progress against agreed time and cost targets, and highlighting any unresolved issues * To ensure adherence to Company and Customer, Quality and Safety standards
