Description
PRODUCTION ENGINEER - ILFORD - SALARY UPTO £24,000 PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS
A new position for this well established electro-mechanical manufacturing company. Reporting to the Head of Design for Manufacture you will ensure that new and existing designs are suitable for manufacture taking into account product quality, reliability and cost effectiveness. Duties:
Participate in the engineering design cycle (e.g. design reviews etc) to ensure that products are designed for manufacture
Manage the process of prototyping new designs
Identify, design and document all manufacturing tooling
Manage new product introduction process
Identify and promote new methods of manufacture
Modify manufacturing data in accordance with Change Requests
Provides technical liaison with the Supply Chain where there is a substantial engineering / manufacturing process involvement.
Maintain close liaison with Engineering, Production, Procurement and Suppliers
Experience and Qualifications
Preferably a degree for a related engineering discipline, e.g. electronics, manufacturing, however previous experience will be taken into consideration.
The candidate should come from a manufacturing / engineering background and ideally have an understanding of Printed Circuit Board manufacture and assembly and be able to understand circuit diagrams.
Competent PC skills in Word, Excel and mechanical drawing packages, preferably AutoCAD are preferred and experience of 3D drawing systems (Inventor) would be advantageous.
