Tool Design Engineer – Jigs & Fixtures - Aerospace Manufacture – c £32k – temp to perm - Hampshire
Working on NPI programmes, the Tool Design Engineer will be the technical expert for tooling, working on new projects and responsible for managing the tool design process, producing complete detailed tool design packages and providing technical assistance to resolve any technical problems on existing tools.
The Tool Design Engineer will primarily be responsible for developing the production tooling and generating working tool design drawings to EN BS 8888 using CAD tools (AutoCad / SolidWorks), as well as identifying and implementing continual improvement processes. Hands-on experience in Lean principles advantageous.
Qualified to HND level or equivalent, the Tool Design Engineer should have experience of using AutoCAD or SolidWorks packages and a good working knowledge of tool design for jigs and fixtures.
