Description
Our client is a well established assembly biased manufacturer, producing bespoke products and employing a highly skilled and loyal workforce. An opportunity has arisen for an Interim Buyer to join their Supply Chain function, reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, and working cross functionally with other departments.
You will be responsible for negotiation for full Terms and Conditions with your suppliers, including prices, lead times and delivery dates. You will be developing all purchasing functions, systems and procedures to ensure manufacturing requirements are met in line with customer requirements. You will ensure stock levels and budgets are adhered to, and work to specific KPIs.
You are an experienced, assertive and proactive Buyer/Purchasing professional, ideally although not essentially from an assembly biased manufacturer, with experience of MRP and used to working in a high pressure environment. You will have experience in dealing with varying lead times and high value components, and experience negotiating full Terms and Conditions. Experience purchasing prototype products is also required. Ideally CIPS qualified you will be self motivated with a ?can-do' attitude.
This challenging and exciting role offers a salary of circa £30k pro rata for a minimum of 6 months contract, possibly extending to 9 months.
