Electrical Controls Engineer
Totton, Southampton
£24,000 - £28,000 DOE + Paid Overtime + Profit Related Bonus
Our client uses the latest technology in industrial automation to provide robotic welding, handling and pick and place solutions to improve productivity and quality for their customers. They now require a Junior Electrical Controls Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering Team.
The role of Electrical Controls Engineer is varied and challenging and involves all aspects of Electrical Control Systems Design.
As a junior member of the design team, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of design related tasks throughout all stages of the project from quotation to delivery.
Your role will include:
- Electrical Controls Circuit Design
- Detailing of Electrical Designs
- Component Selection and Purchasing
- PLC and HMI Programming
- Robot Programming
- Commissioning
You will be self motivated, have strong analytical skills, be keen to learn and enjoy a challenge.
To be successful in your application, it is essential that you have either an Electrical Engineering Degree or an HNC/HND level qualification (or equivalent) along with previous industrial automation controls experience.
Some previous experience in one of the following areas gained in an industrial environment is also essential: PLC and HMI programming and commissioning, and control systems design using AutoCAD or 6-axis robot programming. Further training will be provided as required.
It is assumed that you will already have some competency in computer based engineering tools. As the role involves some travel to customer sites throughout the UK it is also essential that you hold a UK driving license.
