Field Engineer (Automotive)
Reading (M4 Corridor to cover Southern England)
Up to £25,000 plus Company Vehicle
Our client is a leading distributor of automotive equipment. They currently seek to recruit a Field Engineer to play a key part in the company’s overall sales strategy.
Based along the M4 Corridor, the Field Engineer will demonstrate, install, maintain, repair and service tyre changers and wheel balancers, sold by the company to its customer base across Southern England.
Acting as a technical point of reference for staff and customers alike, the Field Engineer will call on established accounts, keeping their equipment and therefore their businesses working. With a customer base predominantly consisting of smaller independent fast fit tyre retailers, though with a number of more well known companies, you will be expected to plan your activities to ensure optimum use of resources.
With previous experience in a similar service role, preferably within the automotive industry and ideally with knowledge of tyre products, you will hold a good basic knowledge of electrics and a mechanical/technical aptitude and experience in a customer contact role. The Field Engineer would also benefit from having:
- The ability to communicate well at all levels when developing relationships with new and existing customers
- The ability to maintain clear and accurate records of customers, journey details and vehicle expenditures
- A clean current driving licence
- The ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
- Maturity when dealing with people from diverse backgrounds
- A strong customer service ethic
