Description
MECHANICAL ENGINEER / CAMBRIDGESHIRE / £30K-£50K
* A Mechanical Engineer is required to support mechanical design work. As a Pro-E skilled CAD Engineer, you will implement designs created by more senior engineers
* You must be proficient with Pro-E & able to manipulate the CAD tool with competence (core design skills are not expected to be as high as those carrying out the fundamental designs)
* Design of mechanical parts for high volume, low cost, high density products with repeatable manufacturability usually in remote, third party, manufacturing locations.
- Design for ease of assembly, repair & eventual disposal
- Experience of writing Mechanical Design related specifications, carrying out feasibility work & product integration & testing.
- Good understanding of the interfacing between the mechanical parts & electronics circuits.
- Good analytical skills able to calculate implications of design decisions (tolerance, stress, vulnerability, of parts etc)
ROLE:
* Mechanical Engineer to implement/optimise mechanical designs using Pro-E Wildfire 2 CAD tool
* Hands-on mechanical CAD design & design support for TETRA mobile radio products covering one or more of:
- Thin walled plastics design including 2-shot mouldings
- Extrusions/diecast parts
- Mechanisms - activators, latching parts etc
- Electronics connectors
- Product Sealing (up to IP67)
- Design for compactness & ruggedness when dropped
- Physical support of complex & fragile PCB assemblies/LCD displays
- Design for vehicle mounting (in the case of mobile products) | | |
