DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN / COUNTY DURHAM / £NEG
Fantastic opportunity for a Development Technician to provide support to our client's Development Team in a role involving testing MMICs, MIC Test Pieces, Development PCAs, & Transceivers. In this challenging role you will work closely with the production & test engineering teams on short, medium & long term goals
Applications are welcomed from development technicians with skills as follows:
- Sound exp in RF Electronics/Microwave Test environment
- Exp using test equipment: VNAs, Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters, RF Synthesisers, Oscilloscopes, DC Power Supplies, Computers, Ovens
- Familiar with Syteline / ERP system
- Exp in electronics fault diagnosis & use of MS Word, Excel, Autocad, Altium designer (or PCAD)
- Able to read/understand electronic circuit schematic diagrams
This varied role includes:
* Manual & software controlled test
* Collate test results & present results for statistical analysis
* Generate manufacture packages & BOMs
* Liase with production & design ensuring smooth transition to volume manufacturing incorporating materials, processes, design rules, cost reductions & continuous improvement
* Fault diagnosis/root cause analysis of retuned products
* Set up/calibrate/align test sites & install software
* Inspect/generate reports on incoming material, e.g duroid circuits, attached duroid circuits, surface mount assembly, MMICs
* Assemble test pieces/implement modifications to Breadboard & Prototype units
* Solder surface mount components, manual wire bonding, attaching circuits to substrates, assembling test fixtures etc required
* Assist in material & component qualification & cost reduction activities
