PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER / CAMBRIDGESHIRE / £30K-£50K
A Principal Mechanical Engineer is required with skills as follows:
- Experience in mobile radio, PDA or similar developments
- Competent ProE Wildfire user able to design complex parts with complex surfaces
- Ideally exp of complete development lifecycle from initial requirements through to volume production in the target manufacturing location
- Some exp of PC CAD tool systems management an advantage
- Able to get on with others in a small, focussed, team aimed at meeting tight schedule deadlines/cost targets
- Flexible, adaptable. Willing to travel abroad occasionally to meet customers, suppliers, manufacturers
ROLE:
Principal Mechanical Engineer sought for Hands-on, mechanical CAD design & design support for TETRA mobile radio products covering 1 or more of:
- Thin walled plastics design including 2-shot mouldings
- Extrusions/diecast parts
- Mechanisms - activators, latching parts etc
- Electronics connectors
- Product Sealing (up to IP67)
- Design for compactness/ruggedness when dropped
- Physical support of complex & fragile PCB assemblies & LCD display
- Design for vehicle mounting (in the case of mobile products)
Many of the above would be expected for a candidate currently working in a GSM, 3G or PDA design team | | |
