Description
PRINCIPAL DIGITAL DESIGNER / CAMBS / £NEG
* You will have an appropriate background working for an Electronics Design or IC design or IC fabrication company
* Experience of sub-micron CMOS technology along with digital design experience covering FPGA/ASIC & board level circuits
* Experience of a lead role for part of or whole design process
* Experience of sign-off & back-end flow for ASICs
* Embedded microprocessor design experience valuable
* Appreciation of analogue design techniques
* Good understanding of analogue design advantageous
* Desirable tools:
- Synopsys VCS Verilog
- Synopsys Design Compiler
- Synopsys TetraMAX
- Mentor FormalPro
- Synplicity Synplify Pro
- Synplicity Synplify ASIC
- Xilinx FPGA Place and Router
ROLE:
Lead role in digital IC (FPGA/ASIC) design & digital circuit design at a board level. The RF Systems Group forms a major part of the Wireless Division & delivers radio hardware, IC design & overall wireless systems design to clients. The Group work closely with Wireless DSP & Software Groups within the Wireless Division. Role includes:
* Develop state of the art wireless systems from specification to detailed component-level design, & hand-over to volume production
* Driving/contributing to architecture specification, actual circuit design, design implementation, verification & approval for volume production of the architecture
* Lead role in preparing/working from specs for digital IC functions, taking a wider view of the product/application requirements & converting them into silicon solutions
* Lead role in progressing detailed board level digital circuit design to meet project plan requirements
* Define most suitable digital system design/architecture to meet a specs
* Detailed design of digital circuits down to dimensioned component level & guide/review layouts
* Program XILINX FPGAs to emulate ASIC designs for lab testing before chip sing-off
* Create production digital test vectors | | |
