Our client is a world class provider of simulation and analysis driven Decision Support and Training Solutions. The company is fielded globally covering
Operational Analysis, Modelling and Simulation software, Exercise Design and Delivery and Wargame solutions encompassing the full spectrum of conflict, at all operational levels.
Our client has its roots in the defence industry and continues to enjoy sustained growth in this area combined with successful diversification into the commercial marketplace. Following recent successes, the company faces the opportunity to develop a new and exciting business area based in the virtual simulation marketplace. In order to address this market, the company requires a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager with an appetite for the challenges ahead.
The Role - The Business Development Manager will report to the Director of Business Development and will have responsibility for business development in the Virtual Simulation & Training environment. The Business Development Manager will be supported by technical staff and administrative effort as
required.
Principal challenges include: Developing marketing strategy in consultation with the Director of Business Development. . Exploiting current market position and technological advances in order to realise challenging order book targets. Raising the companies profile through targeted networking; marketing campaigns, including attendance at exhibitions and conferences; and the generation of appropriate marketing materials. Providing direction to technical research programmes based on analysis of the market place, identifying areas for growth. Developing long-term strategic relationships with both customers and partners. Delivery of effective presentations to both potential and existing customers.
The Candidate - The successful candidate will have experience of Simulation & Training (or a related technical market area) in the defence industry, possibly with a military background, and have recent experience in a business development role. Underpinning all of this will be an inherent ability to understand simulation technologies and communicate their capabilities to
new and existing customers. The Business Development Manager will have excellent communication skills , combined with the capability to take on a
leadership role in order to take the business forward and to effectively manage supporting staff.. Degree qualified or equiv
