There is currently one person in the mill fulfilling this role. He/she will look after day to day maintenance and plan for shuts when the machines are closed down. They will be very hands on and deal with day to day issues. The Asset Engineer will provide them with technical support and expertise. The Technician is responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety procedures and practice is maintained. There will be 2 working in the Papermill across 3 machines therefore they will have dual responsibility for one of them. It would help if candidates have Papermill experience but this is not essential. Candidates must have instrumentation/calibration experience. On average they should have 5 years post-apprenticeship maintenance experience (for our information only!). They will also be involved in some purchasing of parts and labour subject to usual approvals.
There is a 9 week maintenance rota on each machine and each electrical technician will be aligned to a particular machine, although 3 lines will be split between the two technicians. They will be responsible for organizing shuts on their machines.
Key Responsibilities: ·Ensure compliance to safety and legal standards ·Responsible for the planning and scheduling if maintenance tasks ·Ensure actions are communicated to operations in terms of work priority list at least on a daily basis ·Responsible for the hands on operational support on a daily basis ·Champion best maintenance standards for your dedicated assets
Person Specification: ·The role holder must have completed an electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent ·High energy, drive and an analytical approach is key to this role ·Excellent problem solving, tenacity and interpersonal skills are also essential
