Due to expansion our client is seeking to recruit a Design & Development Engineer who will be involved with designs and engineering solutions for mechanical & electro / hydraulic / mechanical products, used within control systems. A background within automotive products would be an asset, as would proven experience in producing products from initial concept, through to manufacture. Interested? Read on..
Using automotive industry standard tools & processes. Working within, and possibly leading, a professional Project Team to deliver programmes from Concept to Production. Develop & maintain close working relationships with internal & external cross functional team members.
Responsibilities
· Working in a project team you will be involved with products from initial concept to meet with customer requests
· From customer acceptance, you will develop robust engineering solutions, using a 'right first time' approach.
· Produce manufacturing instructions, BOMs and test procedures and all other relevant paperwork. Updating Drawing when necessary and ready to release to other departments when requested
· Use ProE and AutoCad to generate 3D models & 2D drawings
· Perform engineering calculations & simulations as required in order to achieve robust product designs.
· Ensure designs meet with the team targets: quality, costs and delivery
· Work closely with the prototype teams to co-ordinate the manufacture of sample parts. And/Or working with subcontractors to procure manufactured components.
· Working with the project team to manage New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
· Work with OEM's & suppliers on product design issues & make recommendations as required.
Key Skills:
|Degree /HNC Electro mechanical engineering with a proven track record in design including electrics and hydraulics
The use of development tools, including DFMEA, DFM/A, VA/VE techniques, DVP&R, SC&CC identification, etc
Good team player, with a strong customer focus
