Description Development Analysis Engineer
Engine Cycle Simulation and Development
Based: Northampton
Salary: £ Neg dependent on experience
Junior through to Principal Engineer level considered.
Our Client is a global leading development partner to the automotive and engine industry and have unique systems competence in the areas of high performance combustion engines and engine peripherals. There are many imperatives affecting the automotive industry, the most important of which are improving fuel economy and reducing emissions, and our Client is at the forefront of research into improving the efficiency of the internal combustion engines to meet these aims.
Our Client's focus is on the development of core gasoline technologies and well-to-wheel energy efficiency, but not to the exclusion of other fuels including diesel, hydrogen, natural gas, alcohols and, of course biofuels.
Role:
Your role will be to support engine design and development using the engine cycle simulation tool GT Power. You will be responsible for interpreting data, presenting simulation results and making recommendations to the project teams in accordance with performance targets. The primary objective is to develop the capabilities of the department to ensure continued growth and success in a very competitive market.
The candidate:
We are looking for simulation engineers who have worked on engine performance and development within an OEM / 1st tier or consultancy environment. You must have practical experience of using 1D cycle simulation tools such as GT Power, Ricardo Wave or AVL Boost and be able to communicate your findings to internal and external customers alike. A good eye for detail coupled with a methodical approach to problem solving is also a requirement for this role.
