A global Engineering Systems Consultancy currently required a Analyst Programmer to join their Analysis and Modelling Division to work on a range of government projects involving: definition and requirements and assumptions; development of computer simulations; analysis and reporting.
The successful Analyst Programmer would be expected to have some/all of the following skills and experience:
• Previous experience in modelling and programming (this may include a relevant MSc, PhD and/or work experience).
• Complete familiarity and confidence in using standard desktop tools (including Microsoft Access and Excel).
• Ability to liaise effectively with clients to help define and clarify requirements and collate relevant data/information.
• Ability to analyse data/information accurately and design appropriate tailored solutions to problems often involving software development /use.
• Programming in either C#, C++ or VB.NET.
• Innovative approach to problem solving.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Flexible approach to work, ability to work alone or as part of a team.
It would be desirable to any of the following:
• General defence awareness and/or experience of working on defence-related projects.
• Knowledge of simulation modelling.
• Operational Analysis/Operational Research knowledge or experience.
The Analyst programmer should be degree qualified in a scientific, mathematical or engineering discipline (or relevant experience) and be able to attain UK security clearance to SC level (would need to be a British national)
