Description
Mechanical Design Engineer required for a leading company in the provision of outdoor adventure equipment.
The duties would include:
Development of a new device based largely on an existing product.
Design of a safety-critical device
Component and assembly design. Particularly related to mechanical components such as drums, hubs, fans and timing belts
Selection and integration of third-party electromechanical and electronic components such as motors, sensors, counters and controllers.
Product design using 2D and 3D CAD tools
Technical supervision and evaluation of prototypes and pre-production builds.
Communication of designs with draughts person and review of component drawings
Assisting management with the development of product-specific QA and testing procedures.
Documentation of work in a knowledge management systems
Refinement of existing products.
Experience
Experience in Mechanical engineering design and manufacturing environment
experience in a variety of product areas desirable
Basic understanding of electrical/electronic engineering principles.
3D CAD Modelling, preferable Alibre
Contract Length: 12 Months
