Description Cummins Turbo Technologies, headquartered in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, has been designing turbochargers since 1960 under the Holset brand. It now has manufacturing plants worldwide to ensure support for engine and vehicle makers across the world. We currently have a new vacancy for an Applications Engineer. Your main responsibilities will be to lead the technical aspects of current and future products for a particular customer; Maintain and develop key knowledge of customer applications and the turbocharger products used and develop an understanding of technical needs of the customer and key enabling relationships
Essential Skills: HND or Degree level Engineering or related subject § Experience with diesel engines, gas turbines or turbochargers, preferably in an automotive field § Design and/or project experience with release of new products § Gasoline engine experience would be considered if no diesel experience Understanding of release/production systems required
Key Responsibilities: § Works as part of an account team to fulfil the needs of the customer § Is responsible for all applications work for a particular customer § Works with the customer to establish the technical needs of new applications § Participates with other parts of Engineering to the development of new products § Works with Product management groups to define products that can be offered at the start of a project to fulfil this need. Communicate this requirement within Cummins Turbocharger Technologies § Develop and maintain key engineering relationships with the customer § Develop application approval programme for each new project, including definition of appropriate application duty cycles and leading applications FMEAS and installation reviews where necessary § Ensure all customer related data is included in product release documentation within the new product introduction process § Involved in investigating and resolving PQC (product quality) items related to a particular customer | | |
