Description Our Client, based in Gwent is looking for a Test & Verification Engineer to assist the Test & Verification Analyst in the delivery of designated test and verification activities pertaining to the programme.
The Test & Verification Test Engineer will be specifically responsible for all deliverables pertaining to the design and execution of test cases and test scripts for each designated test phase of the Programme to which they are allocated.
The T&V Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:
• Support activities as defined in the stage test phase Test Plans in preparation of test execution. • Contributing to the production of the stage test phase test execution schedules in conjunction with the T&V Analyst • Production of stage test phase Test Scripts detailing test steps, test data and expected results • Tracking and reporting of test progress against stage test phase execution schedules • Contributing to the production of the stage test phase Test Exit Reports. • Peer review of T&V team test deliverables • Assist in the defining of the test environment configuration required to support scheduled tests during a stage test phase. • Perform test execution of test phase test scripts, record and verify results and capture defects upon observation of non-compliance
• Educated to ONC diploma level either in a science or engineering based subject – desirable • Formal qualifications in testing (Foundation level of ISEB Software Testing) – essential • Relevant manufacturers or technical courses (i.e. Oracle, SQL)
• Experience of projects involving multiple suppliers using varying delivery and test approaches – essential • Knowledge and experience of IEEE829 and BS7925-2 – essential • Proven experience in an industry standard Test Management and Defect Management tool, e.g. Mercury Quality Centre, Rational Test Manager - essential • Understanding of Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management processes - essential • Broad understanding of the Prince2 project management methodology – desirable • Broad understanding of the Rational Unified Process software engineering process – desirable Experience of test tools for automation and performance monitoring – desirable.
