Description
A leading international distribution and logistics company is currently looking for a Buyer for their aftermarket automotive division within their busy engineering and distribution site in the Leicestershire area. This will be an ongoing temporary assignment.
BUYER/ ASSISTANT BUYER (TEMPORARY)
LEICESTERSHIRE
IMMEDIATE START, INITIAL 3 MONTH TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT
PAY RATE - £10-£12.50 per hour (PAYE)
Job Purpose:
To ensure high availability of parts/materials are ordered and received in time and in sufficient quantities to support after market parts requirements. This role will entail purchasing parts to a set price and minimum order quantity negotiations ensuring economical stock levels. To resource parts where original suppliers are no longer trading.
Job Duties:
Purchasing of Automotive aftermarket parts.
Management of activities to ensure timely delivery of parts.
Develop and manage relationships with suppliers.
Administer all commercial issues with the supplier base including cost control, negotiation and availability.
Participate as a member of the buying team on various purchasing, sourcing and logistic projects.
Skills Required:
Candidates should have prior purchasing experience gained in a high volume, fast moving procurement function, having worked in a Buyer or Assistant buyer capacity. Knowledge of planning, scheduling, inventory control and purchasing is required. Must have effective communication and strong negotiation skills, sound judgement, persistence, and high work standards. Knowledge of SAP is advantageous but not required, however strong IT literacy is. A driving licence and own transport is required.
There are a number of roles available with immediate start dates to work on initial 3 month temporary contracts, with the strong possibility of contract extension for the right candidate.
