Description SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY HAMPSHIRE
A Software Development Engineer is now required at this world leader in the design and manufacture of electric motors, industrial joysticks and control systems for electric vehicles based in Alton, Hampshire. As Software Development Engineer you will report to the Product Development Director and work on embedded ‘C’ software based systems. Some support of PC Based applications like Visual Basic may also be required. The position requires everything from concept/algorithm development, coding, debugging, and testing through to system commissioning and development. Working as part of an R&D/Support team, the role will involve liaising closely with hardware engineers and from time to time with customers. Travel to customer sites both in the UK and abroad is therefore required occasionally.
Ideally an engineering or physics graduate, with embedded software experience and a flair for system applications, the successful candidate must be a good communicator and capable of rising to new challenges. You will need experience of embedded C programming preferably with Infineon XC164 Microcontroller, using Emulators and a PC Based Integrated Development Environment. Structured Design Experience including experience of using tools such as Yourdon Methodology is necessary as is experience and/or interest in Mechanics/Motion Control.
