Description
RF Design Engineer
Our Client requires a professional design engineer, who will undertake the RF design elements of new designs.
The company designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of accessories for the satellite TV market worldwide.
It is likely that the job holder will be a graduate engineer, with proven electronic design experience.
To design new products which require RF, or mainly RF, technology. Product design may require a completely new implementation, or an adaptation of an existing design. Design involvement occurs at all stages of the product lifecycle, and includes design concept, detailed design, prototyping, generating and releasing production drawings, assistance to production, and assistance to sales/marketing.
To generate designs which meet agreed specifications and product cost, and which are completed within agreed timescales.
To liaise with other members of staff and subcontractors about design related matters, as required.
To provide assistance to other Company departments and subcontractors, as required, e.g. sales support and production support.
From time to time, to develop trainee RF engineers employed by the Company.
To keep abreast of RF technology, with a view to current and future products.
Essential
RF circuit design
A proven track record in the successful design of RF circuit elements, ideally including:
Amplifiers
Mixers
Splitters
Couplers
PIN attenuators
Filters
Oscillators
PIN switches
RF equipment design
A proven track record in the successful design of RF equipment, ideally including:
Frequency converters
Multi-switches
Distribution amplifiers
RF system design
A proven track record in the successful design of RF systems, ideally including:
MDU distribution systems (satellite and terrestrial)
DTH satellite receive systems
CAD
Schematic capture (ideally using Cadstar)
RF design simulation (ideally using Ansoft Designer)
Design for manufacture
Design documentation generation
IT - PC literate - Windows -MS Office
Team player Self-motivated Keeps abreast of technology Innovative Effective communicator
Desirable
Satellite TV systems knowledge and application
Experience of successfully designing for consumer electronics
Analog circuit design
Software for PIC Micro-controllers
Power supply circuit design
Experience of successfully introducing a design in to volume manufacture
