Description
Manufacturing Engineer (with CNC, machine shop processes, materials, tooling type background) required close to Portsmouth. Our Client is a leader in the development and manufacture of marine products and offers a competitive salary and benefits which include 25 days? holiday per annum, Pension Scheme and Private Medical Insurance.
Your role will involve:
?Preparation and maintenance of documentation necessary for manufacturing [Bills of Materials, Routings, Method Sheets etc]
?Liaison with other departments to assist in the creation of cost estimates for new builds and NPI (New Production Introduction)
?Selection and management of subcontractors and the manufacturing sub-contract process including performance and improvement monitoring to ensure that the required quality, cost and due date performance is achieved
?Provide technical expertise and support to the Manufacturing Cells, Factories and Work Centres
?Liaison with Engineering departments to implement best practice with regard to DFM (Design for Manufacture) and inventory rationalisation
?Support a CIP (Continuous Improvement Plan) within manufacturing by developing and implementing new leaner processes/methods, cost -down initiatives and improving the current operations.
You will ideally be someone who has the following:
?HNC qualifications in a suitable Engineering subject
?Previous experience in a similar role
?Knowledge of and experience with general machine shop processes, materials and tooling. | | |
