Description
Purchaser / Buyer required with a manufacturing background purchasing mechanical components such as materials relating to mechanical seals and castings from overseas and within the UK. Our Client develops and manufactures products and offers a competitive salary. benefits include 25 days? holiday, Pension and PMI.
Your role will involve:
? Carrying out the procurement of all raw materials to specified MRP controllers
? expedite purchase orders
? actively seek to reduce supplier lead times
? develop suppliers with the aim of reducing overall costs
? monitor supplier performance
? identify possible improvements in any aspects of supplier or purchasing function
? bring the SAP system up to date and maintain good, clear records of pattern changes
? Produce your own purchase order, update prices and delivery information as necessary.
You will ideally be someone who has the following:
? 3+ years of actual buying experience in a Manufacturing environment
? Good personal presentation
? Have a good telephone manner
? Be able to deal effectively with all manner of people and / or situations
