Description Working within a dedicated procurement team, the role of the purchasing assistant will be to support and assist the contract managers and procurement managers with their daily duties. Reporting into a contract manager your duties will include:
- Answering internal stakeholder queries
- Dealing with supplier questions
- Raising purchase orders
- Leading on low value procurement exercises
- Ensuring internal stakeholders are aware of procurement procedures
- Searching for new suppliers
- Managing existing contracts on behalf of the contract manager
You will need to have worked within a purchasing department before and be confident dealing with internal stakeholders and suppliers. The ability to work on your own initiative is essential, as are time management and organisational skills.
